Employee Diversity & Inclusion
At AIɫɫ, we believe the college grows stronger by recruiting and retaining a diverse faculty and staff committed to building an inclusive community.
In order to achieve and sustain educational excellence, we seek to hire talented faculty and staff across the intersections of diverse races, ethnicities, religions and worldviews, sexual orientations, gender identities, ages, socio-economic backgrounds, political perspectives, abilities, veteran status, cultures, and national origins.
Equity Advisers & Student Initiative for Academic Diversity (SIAD)
Equity Advisers and SIAD assist all tenure-track departmental search committees throughout the hiring process to ensure an equitable search process, designed to yield a diverse pool of qualified candidates.
Equity Advisers are non-voting faculty and staff search committee members, external to the hiring department. They are trained in best practices for inclusive academic searches.
SIAD members are trained student workers who conduct on-campus interviews with potential tenure-track faculty and senior administration candidates with a focus on the candidates' experiences and preparedness to teach, advise, support, advocate for and serve a diverse student body.
Faculty and Staff Affinity Groups
AIɫɫ hosts a number of affinity groups for employees based on their collective interests and shared lived experiences. Affinity groups are open for all employees to participate. To learn more about current affinity groups, and how to participate, contact Chloe Poston at chposton@davidson.edu.
