Alvarez Endowment
Alvarez Endowment
This $8.4 million endowed program is made possible through the generous support of Carlos Alvarez and his family. Carlos was a past member of the AIɫɫ Board of Trustees and his daughter Malú graduated from Davidson in 2002. Since 2010 the Alvarez family has contributed substantially to Davidson through the Alvarez Scholars Program. The Alvarez Grant Program reimagines the experience of the global community by providing funding for curricular and career-related experiences for students and enabling additional student services staff in the International Student Engagement Office and the Betty and B. Frank Matthews II ’49 Center for Career Development (Matthews Center). This program is unique among Davidson’s peer institutions and speaks to the Alvarez family’s and Davidson’s commitment to both the student and postgraduate experiences of Davidson's global community.
