"Usually, people think of education or college as a price tag: the question of how much monetary "value" your college degree will get you. For me, this was mostly not the case. Through Davidson's network, I connected with an alum and produced original research. I also took advantage of several grants, including the Alvarez Grant, and some individual professors' grants, which allowed me to study abroad at one of Europe’s most prominent universities in London, where I enriched my experience by taking graduate level courses. These are just a few examples of how Davidson has challenged me and propelled me toward a career in academia."

"The professors and staff consistently go the extra mile to provide resources that cater to my individual needs as a student. They take the time to understand my academic strengths, challenges, and goals, and through targeted assistance or adjustments to coursework, they create an environment where I can thrive both academically and holistically. This personalized approach makes me feel seen and ensures that my voice is heard at Davidson."

"Why Davidson? Other than the cliché answer of community (truly the heart of Davidson!), Davidson is the type of school that pushes students beyond academics. A Davidson education emphasizes experiences that enrich one’s humanity, as supported by numerous experiential grants that encourage students to engage with the world such as religious exploration, travel, civic engagement, and other meaningful pursuits."

"Davidson's biggest strengths are found in the small moments. The moment a friend waves to you on the way to class. The laughter in the library during late-night studying. The conversations in Commons (Dining Hall) that stretch across cultures, majors, and perspectives. Each of these little moments adds up to an ever-present sense of belonging and community that is so hard to find anywhere else."

"If I could choose again, I would choose Davidson without hesitation. College is not just about the fancy buildings, rather about the relationships that shape you along the way. At Davidson, I have found professors and staff who inspire me, a host family who feels like home, and classmates who challenge me to grow and compete with myself every day. Something that truly sets Davidson apart from any other school in the world is the Host Family Program, an initiative that connects international students with families living just minutes from campus. This program fosters lasting relationships and creates a support network for those of us who have left behind our homes and families to pursue our dreams. For me, it has made all the difference. Feeling homesick is no longer as heavy because I have found love, support, and belonging here. Davidson is more than an institution, it is a community, a family, and a source of inspiration. It is where I am becoming the best version of myself, and where my dreams find the support to grow into reality."

"Coming from a close-knit boarding school, I wanted to go to a college where I could feel that same sense of connection while meeting people from all over the world. At Davidson, I’ve found that whether it’s on the club soccer field, playing tennis, or sharing a meal with friends from different cultures. The Honor Code creates a sense of trust and respect that shapes everything here, making it easy to build genuine relationships. The way professors go out of their way to understand each student’s strengths, challenges, and goals, they never fail to create an environment where we can thrive both in and out of the classroom. And with Davidson’s opportunities, creativity, and all-rounded approach, I know I can explore my interests deeply while still being part of a community that truly cares. Davidson isn’t just where I learn, it’s where I belong."

"Something that sets us apart from other colleges and universities is our Honor Code. It goes beyond simply allowing online exams and internet access for assignments. At Davidson, our Honor Code is central to creating a fair and trusting environment - it’s the foundation of our community. It also ensures that integrity is upheld across all aspects of the Davidson experience, from tests and papers to how it actively shapes our daily lives. It fosters a genuine culture of mutual respect and personal responsibility. This commitment not only strengthens academic integrity but also helps build a tight-knit community where we hold each other accountable and support one another. For us, honor isn’t just a principle; it’s a way of life that influences everything we do. The Honor Code makes me feel respected, valued, and safe on campus!"
