250th Anniversary American Values Deliberative Forum #1: Balancing Unity and Equality: The Case of Citizenship and Immigration
Join the DCI, co-hosted with Duke University and UNC Chapel Hill for the to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. This year-long program will include both Expert Roundtables and AIɫɫ Conversations dedicated to unpacking, understanding, and applying the values that are foundational to the United States – and to many other countries around the world.
The first event in the series, “,” will feature an expert roundtable exploring what these different values mean and how they have both complemented and conflicted with one another in American history. They will also discuss how immigration policies should balance national cohesion with a commitment to the equal dignity of all people.
